Survival
Survival

Conte

This work was completed as part of a fine arts course taken at University this spring. My motivation was that of survival for all of us whose lives have been affected by the events of 9/11...meaning in memory of the many lives lost, saved, and their friends and family. Despite the tragedy of 9/11 we will go on, pick up the pieces of our lives and in the face of the challenge not only survive but live our lives and remember the lives of those lost...just like the Lieutenant that was pulled from the pile alive. To me, being a 'survivor' is a badge of honour, one I wear proudly as I move on to recreate my life through education. Regards, Rae-Lynne Dicks
