September 11th, The Day the Angels Cried - Despair 2002
Oil on Canvas
H. 5' x W. 3.5'
This painting was done after I visited New York and personally saw the hole that was left. It was a very emotionally draining painting to do. It symbolizes the horror and sadness of this event. It also reflects that humanity can no longer ignore the suffering of anyone at anytime. The crying face symbolizes the deep pain of this event, and the flowing hair is reminscent of the spirits of the fleeing victims. The Moslem women represent the suffering of everyone. It is a very sad commentary on the unkindness of humanity.

September 11th, The Day the Angels Cried - Hope 2002
Oil on Canvas
H. 5' x W. 3.5'
This painting was done after I completed the first painting entitled, September 11th, The Day the Angels Cried - Despair. I felt that it was necessary to do a second painting with the emphasis on Hope and that the lives of the innocent were not lost in vain. As well, since there were two towers, it felt only right to do a second twin painting. This painting shows the candles which symbolizes the two towers while the flowers and flames represent peace and hope. I would like to donate for free these two paintings to the American people and a memorial site at some time in the future.
